It has been proven through studies that being in hypnosis is of benefit not only to your mental well being but also helps relax your body on a physical level.
It gives you the time for yourself which you deserve while benefiting your body. Hypnosis can evoke a mental calmness and physical relaxation which may have been lacking in your life, especially if you are working or have other children to care for.
By using hypnosis for the birth of your baby you will be prepared for any situation that arises.
I can't guarantee that your birth will be quick but the average time for women which I see is about 3 hours whether it is their first, second, third or fourth baby.
Babies tend to be born more alert, this helps with bonding.
The birth is more within your control and you will feel more prepared and relaxed.
Hypnosis can allow you to focus on the quality and quantity of your food intake, benefiting you and your baby immediately. You will be more inclined to make the correct food decisions on a daily basis. The benefits of healthy eating last beyond pregnancy and birth, allowing you to regain your pre-pregnancy size and shape with ease.
Hypnosis is the ideal way to bond with your baby before the birth. You know that your baby is able to feel your emotions, stresses and happiness. What better way to show your love to your baby. Dr Dale Beckett of the British Society of Medical and Dental Hypnosis, reports that "hypnosis is an easy, rewarding way of communicating with your baby in the womb."
Hypnosis can help achieve a consistently deep and beneficial sleep pattern. The benefits of proper quality sleep are well known. Allowing you to rejuvenate your body and rest your mind. You will awake feeling refreshed and ready for the day ahead. It can also help with power napping.
Yes, in a beneficial way. There are several reports suggesting benefits, including better Apgar scores in babies born to mothers using hypnosis and significantly greater fetal movement during periods of hypnosis compared with periods of rest.
A faster birth means less need for drugs and a shorter stay in hospital.
Develop a deep trust of your body's natural ability to give birth in a relaxed way and be prepared for the birth.
Feel comfortable after the brith and the following days and weeks, settling into life with your new baby.
What is hypnosis like? If you have never been into hypnosis you will be pleasantly surprised at what a great feeling it is. You are always in control with an over whelming feeling of peace and relaxation. More detail can be found at the Hypnotherapy Associations website or call me.
I am primarily based in Warlingham, which is 10 minutes north of junction 6, M25 and 15 minutes south of Croydon. The nearest train station is Upper Warlingham with a taxi rank and it is on the East Grinstead line from London Victoria or London Bridge.
I am also happy to travel to your home in London or the South East.
If you have friends who have a similar due date and would like to experience the hypnosis with you I am happy to see you altogether.
I have honed the hypnosis for childbirth to 3 sessions although this can be altered to suit you depending on circumsatnces and time available. I recommend starting the hypnosis from the moment you discover your good news. I also include personalised individual MP3 recordings after the session and email the to you so that you are able to experience self hypnosis in the comfort of your own home. I find this really enforces the benefits of the sessions.
